Mounting
When getting a steel garage door installed the first thing to do is mount a stiffener near the upper end of the door. This will alleviate jamming. The assembly of the door should be done already. The panel sections and other components should be already put together. Another major part of the installation is to mount the electronic garage door opener. To find out which opener is compatible to your door, check the owner’s manual.
Assemble Parts
Step number two is a multiple process that includes connecting the door itself to the door system. A trolley must be utilized to attach the opener to the door. Make sure it is position in the center of the garage. This will ensure that it doesn’t move during operation. Once the opener is connected to the door, the balancing system should be adjusted. Usually these adjustments are made per foot of the doors upward movement. This process will provide stabilization for the door in the event that it has to be raised manuallydue to opener failure.
Test Door
After this is done, all you have to do now is test the door. See that it opens and closes electronically with a smooth flow. It should not jerk or wobble during operation. Next, release the door from the track by pulling the manual release cord. Then attempt to lift the door manually. If it opens with ease, your job is done. If not, contact any garage door company in Melrose for further assistance.
